Altaf Hussain welcomes the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists

Certain strife-torn areas in Pakistan were no-go areas for honest journalists
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has welcomed UN decision to declare 2nd November as the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists.
In a special message Mr Hussain said that certain areas in Pakistan also were no-go areas for journalists and frequently journalist are kidnapped and killed in these strife-torn areas of the country by militant organizations. He regretted that no security is given to the journalists working in these areas.
Mr Hussain said that the IDEI will be a major step for protecting journalists. The journalists should be given complete freedom to work   by taking stern action against elements involved in crimes against journalists.
Mr Hussain said that journalists were playing a commendable role in keeping the public abreast of real facts. The laws should be amended to provide facilities to journalists and in case they die while doing their duty their families should be looked-after appropriately.
