Thar famine causes fetuses deaths in mothers’ womb: Altaf Hussain

The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Mr. Altaf Hussain strongly condemned the deaths of fetuses in their mothers’ womb due to scarcity of food in Thar.
In a statement issued from London Secretariat, Mr. Altaf Hussain said that hundreds of men, women and children kept dying because of famine in the area. He said the prevailing drought compelled the inhabitants to leave their forefathers’ place but some of them could not be able to migrate from the place and kept perishing with their compulsions.
He said that the famine caused hundreds of deaths in the area but Sindh government did not seem to take any appropriate measures to rescue the unfortunate population. He criticized that despite doing something, the Sindh government ministers were still living luxurious lives.
Mr. Hussain said that the deaths of fetuses in their mothers’ womb reflected the PPP’s sincerity with the drought stricken people of Thar. He said it was incomprehensible that why.PPP government not protecting people from suffering such extreme scarcity of food and water in their areas.
He then directed MQM Coordination Committee to start setting up tube-wells immediately to remove the shortage of food and water in Thar to at least protect their precious lives. He also demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take serious action against the killings of fetuses in their mothers’ womb, and devised plans for eliminating famine and provision of water by the federal government.
