Khursheed Shah’s venture, Haider Abbas reacts strongly, says Mohajirs own 80% of Sindh

The member of MQM Coordination Committee Haider Abbas Rizvi strongly condemned the Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah for terming the word “Mohajir” as an abuse.
Addressing to a press conference at Khursheed Begum Secretariat Azizabad, MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said that terming the word “Mohajir” as an abuse was, God forbid, an insult to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as he was also a “Mohajir.” He asked the faithful, especially the Islamic scholars to take notice of this blasphemous statement.
He was accompanied by members Coordination Committee Amir Khan, Aminul Haq, Wasay Jalil and Arif Khan Advocate. He said that Shah’s comment was an offence against the entire Urdu-speaking community. He said, “Sindh Dharti is a symbol of peace and people who want to spread hatred and prejudices are the enemies of the land.”
Mr. Rizvi said that they were the Mohajirs who sacrificed everything for Pakistan and offered more than two millions lives for the cause. He said, “It is an international treaty between India and Pakistan that the then inhabitants of Pakistani territory migrated to India would be entitled to possess all the lands abandoned by the Indian inhabitants who migrated to Pakistan.
He said that by that formula, Mohajirs who migrated from India during the partition were entitled to all the land evacuated by the Pakistani migrants who settled in India. He said that 80 percent of the entire land of Sindh, measuring nearly 10 million acres, was the rightful properties of Mohajirs, though intriguingly encroached by the feudal and landlords.
Mr. Abbas informed Khursheed Shah that Mohajirs were not refugees but they deliberately migrated to Pakistan as they struggled and sacrificed for this country. He also referred to the prominent Sindhi writer and columnist Amar Jalil’ recent column in daily Jang on October 12th 2014, clearly stated, “Mohajirs are the rightful owner of all the abandoned land is left by Pakistani migrant who settled in India.”
He also called on Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to take serious notice about such treacherous elements who had been tactfully using PPP’s platform. He said MQM Chief Mr. Altaf Hussain already extended his warm wishes PPP’s rally in Karachi on Saturday.
Mr. Abbas said that some people had cramps in their stomach after Mr. Hussain’s demand of creations of new provinces and administrative units. He said that his forefathers fought the freedom war for nearly two hundred years and ultimately achieved their goal, when Pakistan came into being in 1947
He pointed out the discriminatory approach of Sindh government towards Urdu-speaking people was clearly exposed during the recent hiring in Sindh government. He asked that how many Mohajirs were among one thousand police officers in Sindh and where was the quota, which was implemented Mr. ZA Bhutto in 1972. Mr. Abbas said that there were nearly six hundred thousand government employees in Sindh then there should have been two hundred and forty thousand urban employees according to the quota system but what was the actual figure?
