I appeal to workers, supporters, mothers, sisters and people of Pakistan to attend the meeting in large numbers
Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s leader Mr Altaf Hussain has said that he has convened a general workers meeting on Saturday evening at 5 pm to discuss the current situation of the country and share his inner feelings.
In a statement issued from London Mr Hussain said, “MQM has played an active role for the development and prosperity of Pakistan. It is still playing this role. All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organization was formed in 1978. It was transformed from a student organization to a political party in 1984. Later it was changed to Muttahida Qaumi Movement in order to struggle for the oppressed and depraved people of other parts of country. The party is expanding by leaps and bounds since then. MQM is the only party which has supported the armed forces of Pakistan in their fight against terrorists in North Waziristan. MQM Took out a million march for them. It saluted the armed forces of Pakistan before millions of people. We did not do it as a favour. It was our responsibility to do that. Unfortunately, Pakistani establishment and its military agencies and institutions did not respect our feelings and sentiments. I failed to understand why they display prejudice and bias towards MQM. Whenever I try to purge criminal elements from MQM and conducts brainstorming sessions, the establishment starts crackdown against MQM. It puts impediments under the pretext of preventing riots and target killings.”
Mr Hussain has announced that he would share his inner feelings with workers tomorrow evening at 5 pm and tell them that the establishment deals leniently with the protestors in Islamabad and tortures MQM’s innocent workers and supporters. Scores of mothers have died because of brutal torture on their sons. “I appeal to workers, supporters, mothers, sisters and people of Pakistan to attend the meeting in large numbers. I request journalists and anchor-persons they can criticize me but they should also listen to me. Bengalis were criticized too and oppressed. Remember, Allah does justice. I still pray for Pakistan and urge unprejudiced generals to come forwards and do something for the poor people of Pakistan instead of filling their own coffers, “Mr. Hussain.
