Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar meets Altaf Hussain in London

The two leaders discussed in detail the situation arising out of the protest demonstrations of the two parties in Pakistan and problems faced by people
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar met Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s leader Altaf Hussain at the MQM’s International Secretariat on Monday evening. The meeting lasted for three hours in which the two leaders discussed in detail the situation arising out of the protest demonstrations of the two parties in Pakistan and problems faced by people besides the overall political situation of the country.

This is the first meeting between Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Mr Altaf Hussain.  Mr Hussain warmly welcomed him at the International Secretariat and presented him a bouquet of flowers. Members of MQM’s Rabita Committee and parliamentarians were also present in this meeting.

“I have been your fan and wanted to see how you have managed to charm people despite living thousands miles away from the country. You have charmed me too. I cannot deny that you have sent people from the poor and middle class into assemblies. Pakistan needs leader like you. I am thankful to you from the bottom of my heart that you gave a timely advice to the government for the resolution of Revolution March in Pakistan through understanding and dialogue. Your decision was right. If the march of Pakistan Awami Tehreek were stopped by using force, it would have caused an incident like Model Town,” Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar.

Mr Hussain praised Governor Muhammad Sarwar’s role in handling the situation sensibly and in an appropriate way. “Your politeness has made a place in my heart, “added Mr Hussain.

Mr Hussain said, “We are helping victims of flood and internally displaced people according to our capacity. I had converted all gatherings which were held to celebrate my birthday into a fundraisers for IDPs.”

On this occasion a dinner was held in the honor of the vising governor.
