FAROOQ SATTAR
SHIFTED TO ATTOCK FORT AND KEPT IN A DUNGEON UNDER SOLITARY
CONFINEMENT

According to recent information, Dr Farooq Sattar,
Member of MQM Co-ordination Committee, Parliamentary Leader of
MQM in the suspended Provincial Assembly of Sindh and former
Mayor of Karachi, has been shifted to Attock Fort, (NWFP) North
West Frontier Province of Pakistan. This fort was previously used
to detain and torture hardened criminals and political opponents
of the Government.
Dr Farooq Sattar, who is very ill and suffers from chronic ulcer, is being kept in solitary confinement in a dungeon of 7 square feet. These dungeons were used to imprison hardened criminals and political opponents of the governments to pressurise them to sign pre-written “confessional statements”. Throughout the day he is being incarcerated in this dungeon and is being treated as a hardened criminal. All the facilities, which he is entitled for have been withdrawn.
