"My son is innocent and gentle and has dedicated his life for the cause and the mission", said mother of Dr Farooq Sattar, talking over the telephone to the corespondent of the daily "Amn" on the voluntary arrest of her son.

She said that she was very ill and despite that she could not meet her son, Dr Farooq Sattar for days and months. "I use to ask my son occasionally to come home early as I had been longing to see him often for months and I had asked to have dinner with me, some times", she said. She said that she used to advise his son that his health gradually deteriorating and you are also suffering from ulcer, therefore, you should take rest but he always replied, "My nation needs me, my fellows and my nation are in great difficulties". She further added that often it happened that he said that I will have dinner with you and while I was laying the table, emergency telephone came and off he went to see his colleagues and deal with the emergency.

Dr Farooq Sattar’s mother emphasized that her son is very gentle and shares everyone’s grief and pain. She said that she has firm belief in the justice of God and that he helps and will help the oppressed. She finally appealed to General Pervez Musharraf not to inflict torture on her son as he is very ill.
