SECOND DAY OF MQM'S GLOBAL PROTEST AGAINST ATROCITIES UPON MOHAJIR NATION

MQM Parliamentary Leader and member of National Assembly of Pakistan Shaikh Liaquat Hussain along with Mr Sohail Zaidi of Labour Division joined the hunger strike in front of the British Prime Minister's official residence at 10 Downing Street, London. Shaikh Liaquat Hussain also presented a petition to the British Prime Minister describing how Nawaz Sharif government has targeted the MQM and Mohajir Nation while appealing to him to intervene to stop the genocide of Mohajirs as has been done in Bosnia and Kosovo.

A large number of MQM workers, elected members of Sindh Assembly and senators were present to lodge their protest. Numerous banners with slogans condemning the autocratic rule of Nawaz Sharif and describing the plight of Mohajirs were on display. Hundreds of leaflets listing the human rights violations by Nawaz Sharif Government are being distributed.

International media interviewed the hunger strikers, which included ZeeTV and Jang Publications.

In addition to hundreds of Londoners Senator Khudai Noor, Senator Nasreen Jalil and Mr Nafees Siddiqui also visited the strikers.

The MQM parliamentarians pointed out the plight of Mohajirs in Pakistan to all the visitors by handing over the flyers describing the barbaric treatment meted out to innocent citizens and showing them the photographs of the victims of police brutalities.

The MQM is carrying out their peaceful protests in the USA, Canada, Germany, South Africa, Australia and Belgium as well as in the United Kingdom for an indefinite period. In the USA MQM's elected member of Sindh Assembly Mr Arif Siddiqui observed hunger strike in front of United Nations building. Thousands of flyers have been distributed and petitions handed over in Johannesburg, Brussels, Washington and Frankfurt.
