Muttahida observes day of mourning

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Wednesday observed a peaceful day of mourning throughout the province against the kidnapping and murder of two minor girls in Gadap area. Central gathering to mourn the killing of Hajra and Sassi was held at the Muttahida Headquarters — Nine Zero, Azizabad. Besides, the party workers also gathered at various sector offices in F B Area, Gulberg, North Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Defence, Delhi Colony, Mahmoodabad, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, PIB Colony and other areas. They also offered Fateha for the slain girls. Similar gatherings were also organised in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Jacobabad, Dadu, Larkana, Thatta, Shikarpur, Badin and other cities. The Muttahida leaders and workers wore black armbands and observed two-minute silence. At Nine Zero, the party leaders, workers and a large number of people offered "Ghaybana Namaz-e-Janaza" of the girls. Members of the Muttahida Coordination Committee, including Khaliq Balouch, Shoaib Akhtar, provincial minister Shoaib Bukhari, MNA Shamim Siddiqui and MPA Hameeduzzafar visited the bereaved families in Memon Goth and expressed condolence over the tragic incident.
