Today, at around 4.20 p.m., PST, The personnel of Mahmoodabad Police Station, led by ASI Dilshad and SI Saleem Khokhar, raided the residence of Hanif, Incharge of MQM Mahmoodabad Sector. As he was not present, the raiding party ransacked the house, molested the women and physically manhandled the male members. They have threatened the family to produce Hanif at the Police Station or else face the consequences.

30 December 1998

1. At around 9 p.m., the personnel of Phuleli Police Station raided the residence of Siraj Rajput. In his absence they ransacked the house and threatened the family members. Siraj Rajput is the Incharge of Sector E, Hyderabad Zone.
2. The personnel of Mahmoodabad Police Station, led by ASI Dilshad and SI Saleem Khokhar, raided the residence of Feroze and Nadeem and arrested them. Both of them are workers of MQM Unit 46, Sector Mahmoodabad. The same raiding party raided the residence of Naeem, Member of MQM Mahmoodabad Sector Committee. In his absence they arrested his son.
3. At around midnight, the personnel of CIA Saddar, led by DSP Ghulam Subhani, raided the residence of Nadir Shah and arrested him. Nadir Shah 35, son of Nasir Kareem, is a supporter of MQM North Karachi.

RAIDS AND ARRESTS IN SUKKUR, INTERIOR SINDH
4. At around 11 a.m., the personnel of B-Section Police Station in Sukkur, led by SHO Ejaz Tareen, raided the Islamia College and arrested Saud Akhtar son of Ghayur Akhtar. He is a lecturer in the college and also the member of MQM Sukkur Zonal Committee.
5. The personnel of B-Section Police Station in Sukkur, led by SHO Ejaz Tareen, raided the Government High School Sukkur and arrested Mohammad Amir. He is the Joint Incharge of MQM Sector-D, Sukkur Zone.

1. At around 10:30 p.m., the personnel of Azizabad Police Station arrested Saqib from the United Bakery at Azizabad in Karachi. Saqib is a joint in-charge of MQM Unit 158, Sector Liaquatabad.

RAIDS AND ARRESTS IN HYDERABAD
2. At around 2 a.m., the personnel of Hali Road Police Station raided the residence of Kashif Maqsood and arrested him. He is an office bearer of MQM Unit 31, Sector H, Hyderabad Zone.
3. At around 3 a.m., the personnel of Hali Road Police Station raided the residence of Razzaq Giri. In his absence they arrested his brother. Razzaq Giri is a former incharge of MQM Unit 31, Sector H, Hyderabad Zone.

At around 6 a.m., the CIA and the personnel of Jamshed Quarter Police Station raided the Qatar Hospital in Orangi Town No. 7, Karachi and arrested Saleem and Mujahid.

27 December 1998:

1. The personnel of Quaidabad Police Station raided the residence of Sardar in Landhi, Karachi. In his absence they arrested his 80-year-old father, Abdul Jabbar son of Saeed Kamal. This is the second time that the police have arrested the elderly father of Sardar, Member of Muttahida Organising Committee (MOC) of the MQM.
2. At midnight, the personnel of Zaman Town Police Station, led by Mohammad Irfan and Aurangzeb, raided the residence of Mohammad Ishaq and arrested him. Mohammad Ishaq is a member of MQM Elders Wing, Unit 75.

1. In the early morning, the personnel of City Police Station raided the residence of Kamran and arrested him. Kamran 22, is the worker of MQM Unit 14, Sector C, Mirpurkhas, Sindh.
2. At around 3.30 a.m., the personnel of City Police Station raided the residence of Khalid Kamali and arrested him. Khalid Kamali 24, is a worker of MQM Unit 7, Sector A, Mirpurkhas Sindh. The personnel of raiding party ransacked the house and threatened the family.
3. At midnight, the personnel of Pak-Colony Police Station raided the residence of Ahmed and arrested him. Ahmed son of Zikria residing at Welayatabad, is a worker of MQM Unit 186, Sector Pak-Colony.
4. In the early morning, the personnel of Sharifabad Police Station, led by ASI Shabbir, raided many residences of MQM workers and arrested them. Those who were arrested are: (1) Mohammad Riaz worker of MQM, Elder Wing Unit 72 Korangi Sector, (2) Naeem worker of MQM, Elder Wing Unit 72 Korangi Sector, (3) Raees worker of MQM, Elder Wing Unit 77 Korangi Sector, (4) Irfan worker of MQM, Elder Wing Unit 70 Korangi Sector, and (5) Haji Ali worker of MQM, Elder Wing Unit 70 Korangi Sector.

1. At around 7 a.m., the personnel of Pak-Colony Police Station raided the residence of Anwar, a worker of MQM Unit 187 Sector Pak-Colony. As he was not present in the house the raiding party ransacked the house. Several raids have been conducted at Anwar's house.
2. At around 7 a.m., the personnel of Pak-Colony Police Station raided the residence of Iqbal 40, a supporter of MQM. In his absence they threatened the family and ransacked the house.

At around 5.30 p.m., the personnel of CIA raided the residence of Mohammad Abid and arrested him. Mohammad Abid 27, son of Mohammad Saeed is a resident of Pak Colony, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Unit 186, Sector Pak Colony.

The personnel of CIA raided the temporary residence of Abid and arrested him. Abid son of Mohammad Deen is a resident of Lyari, Karachi. He is a worker of MQM Unit 29, Sector Lyari. He was living temporarily at his sister's house. He was recently released on bail from prison after two years in 1997.
