NINE MQM WORKERS BRUTALLY MASSACRED BY ARMED TERRORIST IN NORTH NAZIMABAD AREA OF KARACHI

Karachi: August 12, 1998

Yet another brutal and barbaric attack was carried out at 9:30 on 12th August 98 by State sponsored terrorist on the MQM Sector’s Liaison Office. This horrific incident occurred at Taqi Centre in a residential area of North Nazimabad in District Central of Karachi, killing at least nine and injuring more than two dozen MQM workers.

Those brutally massacred in this armed attack were: Asad Jamal, Joint Incharge of MQM North Nazimabad Sector; Imran, Taimur, Kashif Hyder, Syed Masood Alam, Syed Qamar Abbas, Ali and two relatived of Asad Jamal.

As per the eyewitness accounts the terrorists were five in number, three riding in a white Charade car while the other two on a motor bike. One of them was wearing a mask. All of them had good physique and were more than six feet tall.

This massacre was engineered in a similar manner as the ones the Agencies had engineered in the past like the massacres of Aligarh/Qasbah in 1986 and Hyderabad in September 1988. The trained assailants carried out the attack in commando like action.

The hierarchy of Administration, Police and other Government Officials disappeared from the scene completely. They were inaccessible and the terrorists enjoyed a complete freedom of rampaging. The armed terrorists are on a killing spree of MQM workers for the last so many days. The workers and sympathisers of MQM are at mercy of these State patronised terrorists.

The number of lives lost only in the month of August 1998 is 13. The death toll of MQM workers and supporters since February 1997, i.e. after the new Government came in power is now more than 200.

Please take immediate measures to apprehend the culprits and check their ever-increasing acts of terrorism.
