BLOODSHED OF MQM WORKERS AND SUPPORTERS BY THE HAQIQI TERRORISTS CONTINUES…

Karachi: June 22, 1998

Bloodshed of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) workers and supporters by the Haqiqi terrorists is continued. Since the General Elections of 1997, more than 160 workers and supporters of MQM have been murdered ruthlessly. MQM is the third largest political party in Pakistan and the second largest in Sindh, southern province of Pakistan.

Following are details of murders, arrests and torture of MQM workers and supporters by the personnel of Law Enforcement Agencies and their sponsored Haqiqi terrorists.

Available Details of Murders:

1- Mrs. Fayyazi Begum, age: 65 year, wife of Allah Bakhsh, resident of House No. 15, Mohammadi Market, Sector-M, Korangi 3-1/2, Karachi, a supporter of MQM Unit 72, Sector Korangi.

On 19 June 1998, Mrs. Fayyazi Begum left her residence in Unit 72 to visit her daughter who resides in Unit 76 of Korangi Area where since morning, the Haqiqi terrorists were firing indiscriminately. At around 11 a.m. Mrs. Fayyazi Begum was shot and severely wounded while she was getting off the taxi in front of her daughter's residence. She succumbed to her injuries and died on the way to the hospital.

2- Imran Ahmed, age: 26 year, son of Abdul Waheed, resident of Flat No. 30, Islampura, Nisthar Road, Karachi, a very active worker of MQM Unit 31, Sector Lyari.

On 20 June 1998, at around 7 p.m., he was visiting his friend when the Haqiqi terrorists attacked him and shot him in the skull. He was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital where despite the medical attention he succumbed to his injuries and died in the hospital.

3- Mohammad Rafi, age: 25 year, son of Abdul Hai, resident of 123, Moeenabad, Malir, Karachi, a worker of MQM Unit 100, Sector Malir.

On 19 June 1998, at around 1 a.m., he was murdered by some unidentified terrorists. We are waiting for further the details of the incident and will post them to you as soon as we receive them.

Available Details of Arrest and Torture:

1- Naeem, age: 24 year, son of Abdul Ghaffar, resident of Bhitai Colony, Sector B, Karachi, a worker of MQM Unit 79, Sector Korangi.

On 19 June 1998, at around 8.50 p.m., he was sitting at his shop when the personnel of Ibrahim Hyderi Police Station raided his shop and arrested him.

2- Ms. Farzana, age: 19 year, daughter of Hameed Ullah, resident of House No. 3/972, Liaquatabad No. 3, Karachi. Her brother Fareed is a very active worker of MQM Unit 164, Sector Liaquatabad.

On 19 June 1998, at around 4.50 p.m., the Haqiqi terrorists attacked her house and opened indiscriminate firing. Ms. Farzana was shot in the neck. She was admitted in the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where she was operated upon.
