BABAR ANEES, BROTHER OF A MISSING MQM WORKER MYSTERIOUSLY GONE MISSING

Babar Anees, brother of MQM missing worker, have also gone missing while he was coming from Islamabad to Karachi on 17th April 19,1998.

Babar Anees was in Islamabad to assist the senate special committee meeting to recover MQM missing workers, fixed on 15th April 19, 1998. His brother Gohar Anees is one of the MQM workers missing since 20 June 1996, after being taken into custody by the law enforcement agencies. He assisted Senator Aftab Ahmed Shaikh, member of the said committee in Islamabad.

According to details, Babar Anees while returning from Islamabad to Karachi on 16/17 April 1998 by train was mysteriously found missing from Hyderabad railway station. Despite hectic search his whereabouts are not known. It is apprehended that law enforcement agencies and officials involved in the missing of 28 MQM workers have removed him from the scene so that he may not assist the senate special committee. There is a grave risk to his life. He may be murdered.

Senator Aftab Ahmed Shaikh has appealed to the President, Prime Minister, Chief of Army staff, Chief Justice of Supreme Court, Governor Sindh and Chief Minister of Sindh through an urgent telegram to take immediate steps for the recovery of Babar Anees and to apprehend the culprits and prosecuted them forthwith.
