STRANDED PAKISTANIS
The stranded Pakistanis have
been living a poverty - stricken life since 1971 in Bangladeshi
camps. Their only crime is that they believed in patriotism and
they still want to return to their own country, Pakistan. It is
regrettable that successive governments did not pay attention to
this humanitarian and national problem. Some political leaders
exploited the situation for their political gains and had no real
interest in solving the problem of repatriation. In fact, those
who oppose the repatriation of stranded Pakistanis actually
oppose the Two Nation Theory which was the basis for the division
of India and creation of Pakistan. MQM’ s point of view is
that the stranded people in Bangladesh are patriotic Pakistanis
and should be brought back home, forthwith.
