For establishing an
effective monetary system in the country, improvement in banking
systems, stability of the currency and effective monitoring of
government malpractice, it is essential that the office of the
Governor of the State Bank is made free from government control.
Therefore, MQM wants the powers of the Governor of the State Bank
enhanced and those powers to be given constitutional protection.
