THE PROCESS OF RESOLUTE TRAINING IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS

INTELLECTUAL THOUGHT PROVOKING LECTURE FOR THE
ORGANIZERS / WORKERS OF
Malir and Shah Faisal Colony

November 06, 2006.

After an individual has acquired excellence in any discipline, field or art, keeping it up to date and to be able to advance, it is not only necessary to be continuously associated with the same discipline, field or art but incessant practice is also required. Whatever has been learnt and achieved needs persistent revision and the process of perpetual enhanced learning and training in that very discipline, is absolutely essential. For example, an individual affiliated with the game of cricket has been practicing it for many years to achieve the skills to the extent of getting selected in the national team. After that he ceases to practice assuming that he has achieved his goal and has gotten selected in the national team. He is now out of practice and it is at this time that he is called upon to play in the team on the ground, his performance will by no means match the merit on the basis of which he got selected.

Similarly there is a person who puts in very hard work in educating himself to receive a medical degree but after having received the degree he does not join his profession but affiliates himself with some other discipline or field; now this doctor after a lapse of 10 to 12 years returns to his original profession to practice in the capacity of a medical practitioner and wants to work in a hospital or tries to run his own clinic; the long interval where he had disassociated himself from his field and did not practice will result in his having forgotten all that he had achieved during his medical education. He will end up being totally unaware of the changes that have taken place in the filed of medicine; which new medicines have been introduced, which new surgical instruments & equipments have been invented and which new methodology is being adopted for medical treatment. The outcome of this type of situation is that an academically qualified person after a long lapse of inexperience in the practical medical field who will now try to re-embark on his professional career, will prove to be totally incompetent in treating his patients in fact will be worse off than an experienced nurse or the paramedical staff.

The very same formula and methodology is applicable on the members associated with an ideological movement because all ideological movements most certainly have an aim, a mission and an ideological direction. They definitely should have rules and regulations, they have to maintain order and discipline and there are principles of check and balance so as to govern their behavioral patterns and personality traits, therefore, training is accordingly imparted to members who are associated or affiliated with such movements. On the other hand the aims and or mission of other political parties is solely to achieve power. The members of such political parties do not have to undergo any strenuous or challenging tests, they do not have to bear up with any difficulties or anguish (hardships), nor do they have to suffer brutalities which are the share of the members of an ideological movement. The Adversities of an ideological movement can be to the extent that we may even have to sacrifice our lives for the achievement of the mission of the movement. The purpose of holding intellectual study groups and skill development programs aim at training the members associated with the ideological movement so that the members are not only made fully aware of the mission of the movement but also for the purpose of enhancement in their vision for the achievement of the ideological goals and for underlining the rules & regulations and principles such that they stand well defined and well understood.

The other purpose of these intellectual study groups is that the members of the movement who have been enlightened have achieved enhancement in the understanding of the ideology of the movement, its purpose, its aims, its discipline, its rules & regulations and its principles should not only systematically review the knowledge achieved but should strive to progress and strengthen the knowledge achieved. If the knowledge achieved and enhanced is not constantly reviewed & revised then the members slowly and steadily start forgetting and become easy prey to human weaknesses. If the process is neglected then they will be in an identical situation as that of the cricketer or medical practitioner who distanced themselves from their professions and slowly but steadily forgot all that they had learnt and gained by way of education & knowledge.

To contribute to the purpose and aim of the ideology and to further strengthen its mission adherence to its discipline, principles rules and regulations is but essential such that we stay steadfast in trying & difficult times. This is only possible when the knowledge and awareness acquired be constantly and systematically reviewed by each and every member of the movement. Other than participating in the intellectual training meetings it is also the duty of each member of the ideological movement to repeatedly read the literature of the movement and thus review his own knowledge, his awareness and to determine the steadfastness of his affiliation with the movement. Those of you who do not apply yourselves to the abovementioned methodical process become prey to human weaknesses and the process is reversed and you start forgetting what has been taught & learnt. Its ideology, its mission, its aim all take a backseat and human weaknesses over power such individuals. They go astray and loose their ideological direction.

‘Allah only helps those who help themselves’, that is those who strive hard with honesty & dedication in the right direction because just to utter the prayer ‘God willing’ does not make things happen. But for make things happen the key is to put in enormous effort and hard work. For instance a student may want to pass an examination he has to study hard with dedication but instead of studying & putting in hard work he just keeps on praying and saying ‘God willing’ I will clear the exams; this just does not suffice and is just not enough to achieve success. The prayer ‘God willing’ is directly related to the hard work put in with honesty & dedication i.e. they are undoubtedly interrelated.  When hard work is done honestly and dedicatedly and along with that prayers are offered for acceptance, only then does the ‘Will of God’ prevail. For the achievement and success for any purpose in life and the prayers to be answered, hard work is the only definite solution.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the prophet of all prophets, the leader and head of all prophets; he too put in hard work, looked after his flock of sheep, took employment as a trader, so much so that he used to make difficult climbs on the mountain to get to the ‘Cave of Hira’ where there wasn’t even place for his physical comfort. He strived, without bothering about worldly discomforts to meditate and contemplate and it was here that he was visited by the Angel ‘Jibrail-ali-Asalam’ with the blissful tidings from Allah Almighty that Mohammad (peace be upon him) had been blessed with Prophet-hood. Muhammad (peace be upon him) physically participated in the construction of mosques, helped in digging the trench (khandak) and personally participated in battlefields for “Jihad” alongside his Companions. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not just preach to his companions to go for “Jihad” but he also accompanied them because he would put into practice what he preached. The so called Mullahs of today are preaching to others to go forward for “Jihad” against nonbelievers and they themselves as individuals abstain from participating, instead they are seen feasting and enjoying the luxury of Pajero’s in total contradiction to the teaching and preaching of the Holy Prophet ‘Muhammad (peace be upon him). We Muslims are the followers of a Prophet (peace be upon him) Who first himself put into practice whatever he preached. If at all, we are the followers of such an exemplary Prophet (peace be upon him) then it is certainly not befitting for us to follow the path of the so called Mullahs who preach what they do not practice, this practice most certainly is contradictory to the holy teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Despite the fact that I am the leader of the party I have never contested for the provincial or national assembly nor have I aspired to be a minister, advisor or governor and neither have any of my family members. None in my family has even been a counselor leave alone awarding of a ticket to them for the provincial or national assembly seats because we fully adhere to the ideological principles of our party. Any ideological party caters to the collective needs of the masses and for their benefit only. I have always first practice whatever I have preached to others because this is in accordance to the Islamic teachings of the holy Prophet (peace be upon him).

Members of the movement must never spy & pry on others to see what they are doing but should fore-mostly cast a glance on their own performance and character. Each member of the Movement must necessarily examine himself to weigh his own steadfastness to the ideology of the movement to its mission and aim and should contemplate to find if it is consistent. Is it on a decline or has there been any enhancement? Is he strictly following the party discipline, the rules & regulations the principles or has he become a prey to his human weaknesses? Are these human weaknesses playing their contradictory role or helping him go against the ideology & principles and has he become selfish? When children are small, parents have to lead them to and fro to school but once they grow-up, this process is no more required because they become capable of carrying on this activity on their own. The onus of the parents automatically gets shifted to the child who has now grownup the same stands to for the seasoned members of this ideological movement. The seasoned members must take on the responsibilities to guide and train the new entrants to give relief and lessen the burden of the leader. To be able to prove yourselves as seasoned members of this ideological movement it is vital that you keep in mind and stick to the rules of revising & reinforcing the ideology of the movement, its discipline, its rules and regulations, its principles and most of all your selfless sincerity should be your purpose and aim.
