Mr Hussain was also briefed on the presidential elections, party preparations with regard to general elections and the suggestions and recommendations from various wings of the party including units, sectors, and zones.

After prolong discussion and debate the Members of the MQM Coordination Committee have come to the conclusion that soon after the decision of the supreme court, the Coordination Committee will hold joint sessions in London and Pakistan to formulate the party’s line of action. The session also discussed the political issues particularly with regards to the forthcoming general elections and concluded not to make a final decision at this stage as far as the election alliance with other parties is concerned. The session decided that MQM will field candidates from all over the country. Instructions were also issued to all the Haq Parast members of national assembly, provincial assembly and senate to raise their voice over inflation and send their resolutions to the federal government.

The session demanded of the Federal Government to take notice of the rising inflation in the month of Ramadhan causing hardship to the poor people of the country and they are finding it extremely difficult even to prepare for the Iftaar (breaking of fast). On the other hand there is shortage of flour resulting in increased prices. It was demanded of the Federal Government to take immediate steps to cover the flour shortage and allow the provincial government to import flour and take necessary action in this regard. They also demanded to check if wholesalers are illegally storing flour and take necessary actions. Mr Hussain appealed to such elements not to do so. He appealed to the Government to award inflation allowance along with the wages to employees before Eid and also to reduce the sentences of convicts by three thus enabling a lot of them to spend Eid with their families.
