TWO MORE MOHAJIR YOUTH BELONGING TO THE MQM MURDERED EXTRA-JUDICIALLY IN KARACHI

Two more Mohajir youth Jamal Hussain and Mohammad Saleem belonging to the MQM were extra-judicially killed today by the police in Karachi. According to details, between 3.30 and 4 a.m., heavy contingent of police comprising of Mominabad Police Station, Gulshan-e-Bihar Police Station and Orangi Town No. 5 Police Station, led by SHO Taufeeq Zahid, raided the temporary residence of Jamal Hussain and Mohammad Saleem and arrested them. They were immediately subjected to most brutal torture, blindfolded and taken to the nearby Irani Football Ground at Orangi No. 11, Karachi, where they were ruthlessly shot dead. Their details are:

  1. Jamal Hussain 30, son of Imam Hussain, resident of KMC 130, Madina Colony, Sector A-11, Irani Camp, Karachi. He was a former incharge of MQM Unit 124, Sector Orangi.
  2. Mohammad Saleem 27, son of Mohammad Aziz, resident of House No. 46, Gali No. 1, Millat Colony, Orangi Town, Karachi. He was an active worker of MQM Unit 124, Sector Orangi.

It should be recalled that more than two dozen MQM workers and supporters have been extra-judicially killed since October 1998, after the suspension of elected Sindh Assembly and the imposition of Federal Rule in Sindh province. Recently, since the appointment of Syed Ghaus Ali Shah as the Federal Advisor of the Federal Government for Sindh as incharge of the province, this is the third case of extra-judicial murder claiming the lives of five MQM workers and supporters.
