Stephen Cohen praised Mustafa Kamal’s development works in Karachi

London – 12th October 2009: A meeting was held between the very prominent American scholar of strategic affairs Stephen P. Cohen and the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain at the International Secretariat, London. The meeting lasted two and a half hours and they discussed the Pakistan-USA relations, the conditions of the country, Pakistan’s war against the terrorists, and other international affairs of Pakistan. Altaf Hussain also explained the apprehensions of the political parties and the public of Pakistan regarding the Kerry-Lugar Bill. He said that MQM is a liberal political party and wants to establishment genuine democracy in Pakistan, and is greatly against religious extremism and terrorist activities. MQM wants to completely abolish corruption from the country and for this is bringing in young educated and honest leadership from the lower and middle class, who are working for the country without any vested or personal interests. Stephen Cohen said during his conversation appreciated the role of MQM has played in progress and politics of Pakistan. He also praised Mustafa Kamal’s work, as how well he has developed Karachi. Stephen Cohen also expressed his desire to visit Karachi someday.
