PEOPLE OF GILGIT, BALTISTAN, SKARDU AND NORTHERN AREAS SHOULD VOTE
FOR THE SUCCESS OF MQM HAQ PARAST CANDIDATES – ALTAF HUSSAIN

London – 24th October 2009

MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has appealed to the people of Gilgit, Baltistan, Skardu and Northern Areas to vote for the success of MQM Haq Parast candidates and get them elected in the upcoming general elections as MQM is the only political party of Pakistan that can secure the rights of the deprived people of the region. In his message to the people of Gilgit, Baltistan, Skardu and Northern Areas, he said that for the past 62 years different political and religious parties have won elections from this region, however, the issues remain unresolved. Tall claims were made by such parties but after coming to power they only worked on solving their personal issues.

All such religious and political parties have feudal lords in their ranks and files. If they would have been sincere towards solving problems faced by the common citizens then party tickets would have been awarded to workers belonging to poor and middle class background. He said that MQM is the only political party in the 62 year history of Pakistan that has awarded tickets to educated, competent and proficient people from poor and middle class background and sent them to the Senate, National Assembly, Provincial Assembly and Local Bodies.

He appealed to the people of Gilgit, Baltistan, Skardu and Northern Areas, particularly the mothers, sisters, elders and the youth that they have tried other political and religious parties in the past – and now, to prove their righteousness, they should give MQM a chance to serve them by voting for the success of the MQM Haq Parast candidates in large numbers. He reminded the people of Gilgit and Baltistan that election symbol of MQM Haq Parast candidates is “Kite”, therefore, voters should stamp on this symbol to ensure the victory of the MQM candidates. He said, “MQM is your political party and it will endeavour to attain the rights of the deprived people of Gilgit, Baltistan, Skardu and Northern Areas.” He assured that the MQM will work tirelessly to bring about the much needed change and carry out rapid development work in the region.

With special emphasis Mr Hussain addressed the youth of the region informing them that the country’s future is in their hands, therefore, they need to come forward and join the struggle for the attainment of their deprived rights. He also appealed to the people of Gilgit, Baltistan, Skardu and Northern Areas, settled in Karachi and other parts of the country, to request their family members and friends in the region to vote for the success of MQM candidates in the coming elections.
