People are disappointed with all the political parties and they only see MQM as their hope – Altaf Hussain

MQM wants peace not only in Pakistan, but also in the region. If MQM comes in power, then there will a relationship of peace &
harmony amongst all the South Asian countries.

We support our armed forces in the war against terrorism. The whole nation is with the Army in this operation.

Founder & Leader of Muttahida Quami Movements Mr. Altaf Hussain said that the poor and working class of Pakistan after having tried & tested all the political parties are disappointed & look at MQM as the last hope for the stability of Pakistan.
He was addressing via telephone, a large gathering organized by MQM South Africa in Johannesburg, for his 56^th Birthday celebrations. Members of the African National Congress, Pakistan High Commissioner – Ashraf Qazi, Businessmen, Industrialists and Social Workers, along with workers & supporters of MQM from different cities in South Africa attended the program. Deputy Convener of Central Coordination Committee of MQM and Federal Minister for Oversees Pakistanis, Dr. Farooq Sattar, Member Saleem Shahzad and Members of MQM South Africa’s organizing committee also addressed the gathering.
    Mr. Altaf Hussain said that MQM believes in Religious &, Sectarian co-existence and democracy. MQM wants to have a government of law & order in Pakistan. MQM not only wants peace in Pakistan, but the whole region and today not only the people of Pakistan, but other countries have come to a conclusion that when MQM will come in power, there will be peace in the South Asian region, and there will be no conflicts or war with neighboring countries, instead there will be peace, harmony & friendship.
    Mr. Altaf Hussain condemned the terrorist attacks on GHQ in Pindi, Lahore, Peshawar, Kohat and other cities. He said that MQM has always opposed extremism & terrorism & had informed the nation of the threats of Talibanization, but certain elements always criticized MQM. He said that instead of criticizing MQM, if on-time action was taken against Talibanization, the country would not have been facing this problem today. Mr. Altaf Hussain said that MQM always said that terrorism, suicide bombing, killing of civilians and army personals,  police & security agencies  in the name of Islam, should be stopped otherwise the terrorists carrying out these activities will become a major problem, but, at that time, no body gave importance to what I had been saying, instead it was made fun off, but after establishment of Nizam-e-Adal, the government and security forces came to a conclusion, that these terrorists have no religion. These terrorists burn down and bomb girls schools, abuse women & children, attack Mosques, Imambargah  and shrines of Sufi Saints, therefore an operation against them has to be carried out, and finally it was done in which army, security forces & police gave their lives to save the people of Swat from the terrorists.
    Mr. Altaf Hussain said that Taliban terrorists even today are carrying out these activities in the name of Islam and are killing innocent civilians. He said he supports the army in the operation against the terrorists, and said that the whole nation supports the army in this. The nation has full hopes from the army that it will save the country from the terrorists. Altaf Hussain paid his respects to the soldiers, who have been martyred in this operation, and said the nation is proud of them.
He said that the poor of the country are suffering from injustice, they are being forced stand in lines to get sugar & wheat, there is unemployment in the country, prices are going sky high and the situation is so bad, that parents are selling their children because of hunger. He said that people are disappointed with all the political parties and they only see MQM as their last hope. Today, MQM’s message is spreading not only in Sindh, but also in Punjab, Baluchistan, NWFP, Gilgil- Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. He said that Inshallah soon, there will be a convention in Lahore, which will be the biggest ever in Punjab’s history.
    He said that MQM is the only party in Pakistan which is the symbol of Unity& Discipline. MQM is a party of middle class people that, takes care of its party expenses through donations. Mr.Altaf Hussain thanked the Kashimiri’s, Baltistani’s, Pukhtoon’s, Balouch, Punjabi’s, Sindhi’s, people from Hazarwal, Memon, Kachhi, Kathiawari and people from different sects that were present at the gathering.  He also praised the workers of MQM South Africa for continuously working for the party with discipline.
