ALTAF HUSSAIN

London-7 October 2005

Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) severely condemned the terrorist attack on Ahamdi worshippers who were offering their prayers at  “Rahmania” in Mandi Bahauddin (Punjab) in which 8 persons were killed and scores injured. He termed this terrorists’ attack as naked terrorism, callous and barbaric that deserves severest condemnation. He further added that the act of killing innocent persons without any justification is not only unlawful but unislamic and also negates the teachings of Islam and preaching of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH).

Mr Altaf Hussain reiterated that act of killings of innocent people under the pretext of religion or belief without justification or any reason is severely condemnable and the perpetrators can only be termed as beastly and animalistic. He said that Islam as religion clarifies in unequivocal terms that murder of a single man without justification tantamount to the murder of the mankind. He prayed for the salvation of the dead and provision of strength to the family members to endure the losses of their loved ones while also prayed fro the speedy recovery of the injured.

Mr Altaf Hussain appealed to the Government of Pakistan, President General Parvez Musharraf, Prime Minister Mr Shaukat Aziz and the Chief Minister of Punjab Mr Parvez Elahi to immediately apprehend the callous killers of Mandi Bahauddin and give them exemplary punishment while urged them to protect the lives and properties of all Pakistanis irrespective of their religion and beliefs.
