MILITARY GOVERNMENT SHOULD STOP MASS ARBITRARY ARRESTS OF MUTTAHIDA QUAMI MOVEMENT (MQM) WORKERS - CENTRAL CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE
Members of the Central Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) have strongly condemned the Establishment of the Military Government for sanctioning and committing arbitrary mass arrests of the MQM workers. They lamented the government that on the one hand it is facing international crisis on Afghanistan and Indian borders and internally with religious and Jihadi extremism while on the other, it is hell bent on decimating the MQM, the third largest political party in particular and Mohajirs and Sindhis in general, the liberal, democratic and progressive segment of the country.

The Members of the Central Co-ordination Committee slated the Government that instead of arresting and trying those police officers and personnel for the crime against humanity who committed the near-genocide of Mohajirs are now being re-posted in Karachi, Hyderabad and other urban centres in preparation of  a fresh  Operation against the MQM.

The Members of the Co-ordination Committee lamented the widespread siege and search operation in Korangi and other localities of Karachi and arrests of MQM workers Liaquat Ali, Shahid Moghul, Anis Ahmed and others who have been implicated in false and fabricated charges including Asif Quddus and Masood Siddiqui, who were arrested from Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, two days ago. They demanded of the Government to stop the arbitrary arrests and torture of the MQM workers in custody of the state and immediately release the all the arrested workers.
