Former City Nazim Karachi and Member of the MQM Central Coordination Committee Syed Mustafa Kamal had a meeting with the Chairman of Sub-Committee of American Congress John Tierney and Congressman Jeff Flake in Washington to discuss foreign affairs and national security. They discussed the role of Pakistan in the war against terrorism, the politico-geographical situation, and the general issues of the country. During the conversation, Syed Mustafa Kamal said that the war against terrorism cannot only be won by the help of armed forces, but America should also help Afghanistan and Pakistan in the social sector, to reduce the socio-economic and poverty issues in the two countries. He said that trade should be made easier between America and Pakistan. Mustafa Kamal also shed light on the work of MQM to form a liberal and democratic rule. Chairman of Sub-Committee of American Congress John Tierney and Congressman Jeff Flake praised MQM’s work of providing the people of middle class a place in the government and the idea of forming a complete democratic rule, and that the former government of Karachi was the best example of good governance.
