Boundaries unsafe and country surrounded by dangers, flexibility in
approach required instead of confrontation.

MQM's leader Altaf Hussain's sincere appeal to all the leaders including Asif Zardari,
Nawaz Sharif, Asfandyar Wali, Maulana Fazalur Rehman and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

Lawyer should exhibit patience, need to put forward point of view peacefully.

Print and electronic media to let every Pakistani know the difficult and sensitive
situation faced by the country.

London …..16th May 2008.
Muttahida Quami Movement's Founder & leader Mr. Altaf Hussain said addressing all the political leaders in particular Peoples Party's co-chairman Asif Zardari, Pakistan Muslin League (N)'s leader Mian Nawaz Sharif, ANP's leader Asfand Yar Wali Khan and Jamiat-e-Ulema's Maulana Fazalur Rehman that they should give a serious thought to the extremely sensitive situation that the country is in and whosoever claims that our National boundaries are very strong and I hope that it is so, but the ground realities are contrary to such claims and the ground realities tell us that our boundaries are not safe and we are surrounded by dangers. In such circumstances we are trying to show our political power over each other to be one up on our counterparts instead of being united in the face of these eminent dangers that face our country and instead of chalking out a plan to counter these dangers collectively. This is a very sad state of affairs. Mr. Altaf Hussain said that if we do not quit the path of confrontation and egotism then he fears that we will be left empty handed and maybe never get an opportunity to confront each other.

Therefore I sincerely appeal to all the political leaders that very grave and serious and important problems faced by the country are worsening since for past many years and instead of solving these issues collectively we are involved in a show of strength over each other. Mr Altaf Hussain said that the need of the time that everyone accepts and tolerates each other in the true spirit of patriotism and instead of adopting the path of rigidity we should work on the principle of give & take, and show flexibility in our stands over issues. He also appealed to the lawyer community to keep in view the sensitive situation faced by the country specially the situation in the Northern Areas and Balochistan and they should show patience and should put forward their point of view peacefully. He urged them to negotiate with reason so that no one gets a chance to take things towards confrontation and he said that unity is the need of this sensitive and crucial time.

Mr. Altaf Hussain requested the journalist community, print media and the electronic media to let the nation know about the sensitive and serious situation that the country is faced with. He sincerely appealed to all the leaders of the opposition including the Pakistan Muslim League (Q)'s leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain that they should refrain from any confrontation.
