TWO MQM WORKERS INJURED BY THE TERRORISTS OF PRO-TALIBAN RELIGIOUS PARTY JAMAT-E-ISLAMI IN KARACHI, PAKISTAN

Karachi: 10 May 2004 - The armed terrorists of the fanatic religious party Jamat-e-Islami attacked three MQM workers in the area of Karimabad, F.B Area, Karachi, Pakistan. According to the details three workers were busy in the work of election campaign of MQM Candidate for the by-elections to be held on 12 May 2004. The armed terrorists of  Pro- Taliban Jamat-e-Islami attacked these unarmed workers with lethal weapons around 11:00 – 12:00 PM on the night of 10 May 2004. Two workers of MQM, Gulzar, Unit Incharge of  MQM unit 149 and Hassan got seriously injured due to the firing of the terrorists. The injured workers were rushed to the hospital where the condition of Hassan is said to be critical and the doctors are trying to save his life.

The Central Co-Ordination Committee of the MQM have severely condemned this terrorist attack by the armed assailants of Jamat-e-Islami. They said that Jamat-e-Islami have got panicked as they are sensing another shameful and crushing defeat at the hands of the people of Karachi in the by- elections. As a result of this, the Jamat-e-Islami have resorted to violence and terrorism to disturb the peaceful atmosphere and to sabotage these by-election. The Central Co-Ordination Committee has asked the worker and the people to remain calm and peaceful and cast their votes in  favour of the MQM Candidate to defeat the terrorism of Jamat-e-Islami.
