ARMED TERRORISTS OF RELIGIOUS EXTREMISTS PARTY JAMAT-E-ISLAMI GUNNED DOWN MQM WORKER IN KARACHI

The terrorists of extremist religious party Jamat-e-Islami armed with sophisticated and automatic weapons shot Anwar-u-Din, a worker of unit 157 of the MQM Liaquatabad Sector, Karachi. According to the eyewitness accounts, Anwar-u-Din was sitting in the Federal Capital Area (F.C. Area), Karachi on 5 May 2004 at 5.00 a.m. while two armed laden terrorists of the Jamat-e-Islami riding on a motorbike opened indiscriminate fire at him from close range. Anwar-u-Din died on the spot under the hail of bullets, which hit him on 5 different places on his body. His body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Anwar-u-Din was 35 years of age and he was engaged. He left behind three brothers, three sisters and a mother.

As soon as the report reached the Head Office of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Mr. Syed Iftikhar Ali, Member of the Central Co-ordination Committee of the MQM, Mr. Moin Khan, MQM Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh and Mr. Nisar Panwar, MQM nominated Candidate for NA 240 in the by-elections rushed to the hospital where they consoled the family members of the deceased. Later, Mr. Shoaib Bukhari, MQM Provincial Minister for Planning and Development went to the residence of the deceased in the Federal “B” Area, Karachi to console the family members.
