MR ALTAF HUSSAIN EXPRESSED HIS EMPHATIC CONDEMNATION OVER KILLING OF SEVERAL FRENCH ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS AND OTHERS IN KARACHI:

MQM founder leader Mr Altaf Hussain has emphatically condemned the killing of several French engineers and technicians and others. In a statement Mr Altaf Hussain said that this tragic incident of terrorism was an open challenge for the Government. Therefore, the Government should take serious notice, he added. Mr Altaf Hussain said that Police, Rangers and personnel of Government agencies were posted everywhere in Karachi, however, occurrence of this incident is a question mark. Mr Altaf Hussain demanded of the President General Pervez Musharraf a high level investigation and asked for concrete steps to safeguard lives and possession of all the citizens including foreigners. Mr Altaf Hussain expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for fast recovery of injured.

Dear Mr President

I am profoundly saddened and concerned on the tragic loss of lives of the French engineers and technicians resulted from a bomb attack on their bus outside Sheraton Hotel in Karachi. I, on behalf of the people of Pakistan and my party Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) express my heartfelt condolences on this tragic loss to your nation.

I pray that May God! Rest the souls of the dead in peace and grant you, their family members and the people of France patience and strength to endure this loss resulting in personal and national tragedy.

This tragedy is a cowardice act of terrorism and deserves severest condemnation. MQM would be prepared to co-operate in the inquiry should its help is sought by your Government.
