UNKNOWN ASSAILANTS SLAIN MAULANA SALEEM QADRI, AAMIR-E-JAMA’AT SUNNI TEHRIK AND THREE OTHERS IN PAKISTAN

Karachi – 18 May 2001

Maulana Saleem Qadri, Ameer Sunni Tehrik and three others were shot dead by the unknown assailants in an armed attack today, 18^th. May 2001. Those killed include Maulana Saleem Qadri’s brother-in-law, nephew and official police guard. According to reports, unknown gunmen attacked him while he was going for Friday prayers at a mosque in Baldia Town, Karachi.

The Urdu language newspaper “Janbaz” published from Karachi reported on 18^th. May 2001 that there was a clash between the Sunni Tehrik and Jesh-e-Mohammad on 17^th. May 2001 over the occupation of a mosque and its adjacent lands in the New Karachi Industrial area, Karachi, Pakistan.
