MQM’S WORLDWIDE PROTEST

 

MUTTAHIDA QUAMI MOVEMENT (MQM) BEGINS ITS WORLDWIDE PROTEST CAMPAIGN TO PROTEST AGAINST THE CONTINUED INJUSTICES, ATROCITIES AND THE DENIAL OF THEIR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS BY THE SUCCESSIVE GOVERNMENTS OF PAKISTAN INCLUDING THE PRESENT MILITARY GOVERNMENT

In continuation to the MQM’s Worldwide Protest Campaign to protest against the State oppression against the Mohajirs in Karachi and other urban centres of Sindh province, today in the seventh phase of the campaign, the MQM United Kingdom organised a protest demonstration in front of the resident of the British Prime Minister Tony Blair at 10 Downing Street in London.  Apart from a large workers and members of the MQM United Kingdom Unit, several supporters including elders, women and children participated in the protest rally.  The participants were holding placards and portraits of Mr Altaf Hussain, MQM Founder and Leader.  The participants particularly the children distributed fliers and handbills.

 

The placards were: Don’t support army rule – Don’t condone, condemn Pakistan – Mohajirs, victims of genocide – Justice denied is life denied – Ask for fair trial for Farooq Sattar – Don’t support military rule – Stop army operation against the Mohajirs – Go back, go back, army go back – Sindh a flashpoint – Pakistan, another Auschwitz – etc.

 

Present on the occasion were Dr Imran Farooq, MQM Convenor, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Deputy Convenor of MQM, Mr Saleem Shahzad, Member of MQM Coordination Committee, Mr Mohammad Anwar, Chief Organiser MQM UK & Europe, Mr Tariq Meer, Joint Chief Organiser MQM UK & Europe, Mr Zulfiquar Haider Advocate, Member of suspended Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Dr Sagheer Ansari, Member of suspended Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Mr Syed M Akbar, Organiser MQM UK and Mr Sohail Zaidi, Joint Organiser MQM UK.

 

At the end of the peaceful demonstration Dr Imran Farooq, Mr Saleem Shahzad, Mr Mohammad Anwar, and Mr Tariq Meer submitted the petition on behalf of the British Mohajirs at the residence of Prime Minister Tony Blair.
