30 June 2000
Montreal

In the eighth phase of the MQM Worldwide Protest, huge number of workers and supporters of MQM gathered in front of the Amnesty International Office in Montreal, Canada.  This protest demonstration was attended by Mohajir women, elders, MQM office bearers, workers, and particularly children.  This protest demonstration continued for three hours and the participants chanted vociferous slogans.  The participants also carried placards with them.  As in other demonstrations worldwide, flyers were distributed and the people were made aware of the State sponsored atrocities upon the Mohajir Nation.

The participants continued to chant the following slogans:

Justice denied is life denied.
Go back, go back, army go back.
Don’t support army rule.
Sindh is a flash point.
Ask fair trial for Farooq Sattar.
Mohajirs are victims of genocide. Etc.

At the end of the protest demonstration a delegation of MQM office bearers and Pakistani Mohajirs living in Canada submitted a petition to the representative of Amnesty International.
