ATTACK ON POLICE TRAINING CENTRE IN LAHORE IS A SERIOUS INCIDENT
IN TERMS OF NATIONAL INTEGRITY-ALTAF HUSSAIN

Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement has severely condemned the terrorists’ attack on the Police Training Centre in Lahore and termed this attack as a serious matter of national integrity. He added that only a few days ago a suicidal attack occurred at the office of the Special Branch of Police in Rawalpindi, at the FIA Police Headquarters in Lahore prior to Rawalpindi attack, attack on the Sri Lankan Cricket Team took place and today, the Police Training Centre in Lahore was attacked in which several policemen lost their lives.

 

Mr Altaf Hussain stressed that attacks on security forces are taking place in the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP), Police constables and officers are being targeted, the innocent worshippers in the mosques are drenched in blood due to suicidal bombings. The terrorists’ committing suicidal bombings and terrorists’ attacks in NWFP are now systematically subjecting Islamabad, Rawalpindi and different cities of Punjab to terrorists’ attacks now also preparing to attack the province of Sindh.

 

Mr Altaf Hussain emphasised that Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has been proactively warning the public that religious extremism and terrorism is a foremost danger for the country and escalation in the terrorists’ attacks in the country is proving our apprehensions true. He further added that MQM believes that now is the time not only for the Government but for the entire nation to decide whether the country’s integrity is dear to them or religious extremism and fanaticism. Stressing further, he said that the nation has to choose one out of both. He added that if integrity of the country is dear to us then we have to unite against all these religious extremists and terrorists and defend our country in unity. He condoled and sympathised for the core of his heart to members of the bereaved families of those who lost their lives in this terrorists’ attack and prayed for swift recovery of the wounded police personnel and civilians.
