PPP IS CONSPIRING TO DISTURB THE PEACE IN SINDH
THREE MQM WORKERS MURDERED IN FIVE DAYS BY ARMED PPP TERRORISTS
PRESS CONFERENCE BY MQM MEMBERS OF NATIONAL AND PROVINCIAL ASSEMBLY

The purpose of today’s press conference is to apprise you of the
incidents occurring during the past five days in the city and the reason behind
these incidents.
On 6th March, PPP Member of Provincial Assembly Sindh Abdullah Murad was murdered by terrorists. This is certainly a deplorable act and like other political parties, the MQM also strongly condemned this incident and demanded for judicial probe. However, it is not only unfortunate but also condemnable that the Pakistan Peoples Party is blaming the MQM for Abdullah Murad’s murder. And to achieve political gains it is resorting to terrorism with a view to destroy the peace in Sindh, particularly Karachi and to destabilise the elected provincial government. As a result, during the past five days, three MQM workers have been murdered and dozens of other innocent citizens have been murdered and injured. Details of these terrorist incidents are:
6th March 2004:
During the burial of Abdullah Murad, terrorists of PPP attacked the home and hotel of Ameer Hussain Shah, MQM nominated candidate for NA-258 Malir in Elections 2002.
The PPP terrorists opened indiscriminate firing upon the vehicle of Ahmed Garment Factory, injuring three women passengers Shakila Begum wife of Kamal Uddin, Rukhsana and Rehana Khatoon. Shakeela is the sister of Ehtesham, worker of MQM Labour Division.
The PPP terrorists also attacked Khan Laboratory at Kalaboard in Malir, City Hospital, Naeem Hospital, Hasan Hospital and Atiya Hospital and ransacked these places. They also attacked and ransacked Vision School.
The PPP terrorists burnt four vehicles and a PSO Petrol Pump in Malir.
The PPP terrorists burnt the shop of MQM worker Qasim Mahmood situated in Meat Market Muslimabad in Malir City. They ransacked and looted the bakery of Abdul Rauf in Bakra Piri at Memon Goth. They also looted and ransacked the PCO of MQM worker Asim at Kalaboard.
In Chakiwara, Lyari, the PPP terrorists opened fire on the medical store of Haji Mohammad Ismail, Incharge of MQM Old Lyari Sector and also upon nearby Nasir Clinic. In the same area, PPP terrorists armed with lethal weapons attacked the homes of Amir Hoot, Member MQM Lyari Sector; and workers Mohammad Tariq Rehmani, Shah Jehan and Abdul Rauf. They entered these houses and ransacked the places.
7th March 2004
The
PPP terrorists opened fired and murdered a 20 year old MQM worker Nasir Ali
and a supporter Noor Mohammad in Lyari.
Nasir Ali son of Mohammad Ali and Noor Mohammad son of Musafat were
on their home street when armed terrorists riding on motorcycles opened
indiscriminate fire upon them and as a result they died on the spot.
Prior to this incident, the PPP terrorists had been threatening the
area shopkeepers to shut down their businesses.
8th March 2004
MQM worker Rafeeq Ahmed Balouch son of Maula Bukhsh left his home to buy milk when the PPP terrorists spotted him and opened fire. As a result, he was critically injured and taken to Jinnah Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on 9th March 2004. He was 45 years old and was the member of MQM Elders Wing Malir Sector Unit 95.
Moreover, the PPP terrorist resorted to indiscriminate firing, ransacking and looting in the areas of Khokhrapar, Liaquatabad Market Malir, Alfalah Society, Memon Goth, Dhani Bukhsh Goth, Sujjal Goth, Safura Goth, Rerhi Goth, Darsano Chanu, Dar Mohammad Village and other areas of Ibrahim Hyderi.
The same day the parliamentary leader in National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar threatened on his mobile phone from the terrorists for his assassination.
9th March 2004
In the evening, Nizamuddin Sarbazi son of Nabi Bakhsh, an MQM worker of Old Lyari Sector, was murdered as a result of indiscriminate firing in the area of Meera Naka in Lyari.
At around 12 in the night, armed terrorists riding on motorcycles opened indiscriminate firing upon Fareed son of Haji Basheer and his friend Saleem. As a result 30 years old Fareed died on the spot whereas his friend Saleem is seriously injured.

In Ramswami the PPP terrorists opened fire and injured MQM worker of Unit 31 Adnan Siddiqui son of Zulfiqar Ali. He left his house early morning to buy breakfast for his family.
A passer-by was injured as a result of firing in Lee Market Lyari.
The recent terrorist activities of PPP expose their ulterior motives that they neither have any sympathy on the murder of Abdullah Murad nor they are interested in peace and stability. As with the murders of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his sons Shah Nawaz Bhutto and Murtaza Bhutto, the PPP is using the murder of Abdullah Murad for political gains with a view to salvage their lost reputation. Through these terrorist activities PPP is conspiring to disturb the peace in Sindh, particularly in Karachi, with a view to destabilize the elected provincial government.
We appeal to President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul Ebad and Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mehar to take notice of the terrorists activities of PPP and deal with those responsible for targeting the life, liberty and property of innocent citizens.
We express our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family member of MQM workers and supporters who have been murdered by PPP terrorists in the past five days and also pray for the early recovery of those injured. We also express our deepest sympathies to those who properties were ransacked or damaged by the PPP terrorists. We appeal to the MQM workers and supporters not to get agitated despite the terrorism of PPP terrorists, remain calm and defeat the conspiracy of destabilising the democratic process.
