KARACHI: 20TH JUNE 2011

Deputy Parliamentary Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) in the National Assembly Mr Haider Abbas Rizvi has reprimanded Nawaz Sharif for his harangue in Azad Kashmir against the MQM in Kashmir. Thousands of the MQM workers were done to death during the repressive state operation after 1992 in the regime of Nawaz Sharif. Mr Abbas rebuked Nawaz Sharif for blaming the MQM for the deaths of 52 people in the tragic incidents of 12th May. He asked Nawaz Sharif to inform the people as to who killed the 14 workers of the MQM whose name and addresses were released by the MQM.Mr Haider said that Nawaz Sharif had the cheek to talk about the tragedy of 12th May but he never showed the courage to speak about thousands of guiltless workers of the MQM that were mercilessly killed during his first stint in the government. Entire populations were encircled and innocent people were subjected to untold humiliation and cruelty. He reminded Nawaz Sharif that it was during his tenure that mutilated bodies of MQM workers were found in the streets of Karachi.

Mr Haider said that Nawaz Sharif always spoke about unconstitutional steps taken by others but he shamefacedly forgot that he suspended the elected Sindh Assembly and installed his handpicked puppet as Musheer-e-Aala in total violation of the constitution. It was Nawaz Sharif that brought imposed Governor’s rule in Sindh to satisfy his lust for power.
