Large scale relief activities of MQM to tackle the Tropical Cyclone Phet in Sindh and Baluchistan

Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has established its relief camps in different areas in Karachi and cyclone affected Thatta and Badin cities in Sindh province, and sent relief goods to  Dam in Baluchistan. MQM also established an emergency centre at its headquarter Nine-Zero Azizabad for monitoring all relief activities.

 

Founder and Leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain maintained continuous contact with MQM headquarter Nine – Zero, where emergency Centre was established. He remained continuous  awake for days and  night and kept on issuing instruction to the Rabita Committee and other office bearers to take part in the relief activities of rain affected people. Under the instruction of Mr. Altaf Hussain, the members of MQM Rabita committee Wasim Aftab and Dr. Saghir visited the affected areas of Karachi till late night up to the morning. They had gone to Federal B. Area, Liaquatabad, M.A.Jinnah Road, Saddar, Nazimabad, Shara-e-Faisal and other parts of Karachi.

 

Haqparast Ministers, Senators, MNAs and MPAs and local office bearers of MQM actively took part in the relief activities by shifting affected people to safe areas, clean/ wiped the rain water from roadside and maintain the flow of traffic. At this occasion, MQM‘s Rabita Committee conveyed the commendation of Mr. Altaf Hussain to the members who were busy in relief activities. In Ramswami an old building which was dangerous was got vacated from its inhabitants by the MQM workers and thus saved many lives as after sometime the building collapsed.  Under the instruction of Mr. Altaf Hussain.

 

MQM has established its relief camps at Ibrahim Hydri, Thatta, Badin in Sindh and at Dam in Baluchistan. MQM Rabita committee members, ministers, advisors, MNAs, MPAs visited the relief camps to monitor the relief activities. Federal Minister and Deputy Convenor of MQM Dr. Farooq Sattar and member of Rabita Committee Mr. Ashfaq Mangi visited Kharadar, Meethadar, Mosa Lane, Macchi Miani Markeet, Allah Rakkha Park, Punjabi Club, Barkat Scouts Camp, Agha Khan Jamaat Khana, Baldia Town etc and monitored the relief activities of MQM.

 

Governor of  Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad along with Member of Rabita Committee Wasim Aftab, Provisional Local Bodies Minister Mr. Agha Siraj Durrani, Mr. Fazalur Rehman Administrator of CDGK visited the Sharah-e-Faisal airport, Gulistan-e- Jouhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, North Karachi, Sohrab Goth, Rashid Minhas Road, Nipa, North Nazimabad, Nazimabad, Liaqautabad, Gulbahar, Site, Gujjar Nallah and Defence. MQM’s Ministers, Rauf Siddiqui visited the Site, Korangi Industral Area and Mehmoodabad. Haqparast Minister Khalid Umar along with MPAs  Nishat Zia and Khlid Iftekhar visited Shah Faisal Airport, Landhi, Korangi and Jamshed Town. Haqparast Minister Adil Siddiqui and Izharul Hasan provincial advisor visited New Karachi, North Karachi and Surjani Town; Minister Abdul Haseeb visited Pak Colony, Sher Shah. At this occasion people of those areas appealed the MQM leadership that encroachments in the rain nallahas  must be removed so that the flow of rain water could be drained out, instead of coming on the roadside. The MQM Rabita Committee and all other office bearers monitored the total relief work being carried out by MQM workers and KKF volunteers. They were also conveyed the commendation of Mr. Altaf Hussain for their untiring service to the people in this stage of crisis.
