RELIGIOUS PARTIES MANIFEST HYPOCRITICAL STANCE BY SUPPORTING AN IMMORAL PERSON
DR IMRAN FAROOQ

London-20 June 2007

Dr Imran Farooq, Convenor of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has questioned whether the State of Pakistan is an Islamic or non Islamic State. He said that today, on 20th. of June 2007, during the session of the National Assembly, almost all the opposition leader boycotted the Session in protest against forwarding the Reference against Imran Khan by the Speaker of the National Assembly after having proven credible to the Election Commission. He further added that the opposition leaders gave their argument that this is a case of political victimisation against Imran Khan. He further questioned that if it is so; thousands of men and women languishing in jail under Hudood Law must be released forthwith or should have been released as per the argument and the objection of the opposition leaders against the filing of the Reference against Imran Khan and its dispatch to the Election Commission.

Dr Imran Farooq asked those who raised and registered their objection in favour of Imran Khan, do they mean that Pakistan should also adopt the same practices, principles as provided in the Western societies and permissiveness provided by the Western Governments. In the Western countries, three choices are available; it is up to both partners to have sex before marriage or after marriage while the Pakistani Constitution or Islamic injunctions do not provide the same choice of having sex without marriage then why is this double standard that one rule is for Imran Khan and another for all the Pakistanis.

Dr Imran Farooq said that according to the opposition leaders’ objections if having sex without marriage is legal and not against Islamic principles then why do the opposition leader not demand the removal of the word “Islamic” from the name of Pakistan and name it just as Republic of Pakistan and also demand the deletion of clauses 62 and 63 from the Constitution of Pakistan. He further added that on the one hand, they talk about the Islamic principles and values while on the other hand, they oppose the same principles as manifested in the case of Imran Khan. He added that they should now therefore, come forward in favour of introduction of three choices as normally practised in Western societies or countries between the two partners. Lamenting the opposition leaders he said that it is amazing that despite a Court verdict clearly adjudging that Imran Khan had sex with Late Sita White without marriage resulting in a birth of a daughter, the opposition leaders are daringly supporting the un-Islamic, immoral and unconstitutional act of Imran Khan in the sacred legislative body that is the National Assembly of Pakistan.

Dr Imran Farooq said that as far as, the opposition leaders’ claims of pending references against other members are concerned, surly there would be no reference existing of such heinous and immoral act based on irrevocable court verdicts and if so then they should refer this matter to the Supreme Court. How would the opposition leaders including the MMA leaders respond to this reference of making extra marital sex or to have sex without marriage,  could they term it  as a political matter despite provisions in the Constitution of Pakistan relating to these matters and Islamic injunctions, he asked?

Drawing the attention of the proud Pakistanis, particularly women, Dr Imran Farooq asked them to note that on one hand, right to vote by the women are termed un-Islamic by the religious parties and throwing acid on women not wearing shuttle-cock Burqah (Veil) while on the other, practically manifesting their hypocritical stance by supporting an immoral man who has fathered an illegitimate child with irrevocable proofs. He asked the proud Pakistanis, particularly women, to be aware of the hypocritical traits of the so-called religious parties and Mullahs, unite against them and raise their voice against their hypocritical stand.
