WORKERS AND ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES TO ORGANISE EMERGENCY RELIEF FOR THE 
AFFECTED CITIZENS

Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has instructed all the MQM office bearers, 
workers, ministers, advisers, senators, members of national and provincial 
assemblies, city nazims, town and union council nazims, naib nazims and 
councillors to organise emergency relief for the affected citizens of the city 
as a result of the torrential pre-monsoon rains accompanied by severe dust 
storms. He expressed his grief and sorrow over the lost of lives and property as 
a result and has termed this as a national tragedy. He said that he and the MQM 
share the sorrow of the affected citizens. He prayed for those who lost their 
lives and expressed his grief to the affected family members and for the early 
recovery of those injured.

OF EMERGENCY RELIEF ACTIVITIES OF THE MQM
 
  - 
  The MQM elected representatives spent a busy day organising and providing 
  relief to the affected. They visited their constituencies and affected areas 
  to assess the damage and loss as a result load shedding, falling off of trees, 
  telephone, electric and bill boards and also to oversee the rain water 
  drainage system. Immediate instructions and steps were taken to improve the 
  situation.

  From Saturday evening MQM has installed seven relief camps in the city 
  providing emergency relief including medical treatment. Members of MQM Medical 
  Aid Committee and Paramedical Staff were manning these relief camps.

  City Nazim Mustafa Kamal and Haq Parast Provincial Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed 
  visited the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to meet with under treatment patients. 
  They issued instructions to the hospital doctors to provide utmost care to the 
  patients.
- 
  The MQM has installed three large medical aid camps in Gadap Town and Lyari 
  where the members of MQM Medical Aid Committee and Paramedical Staff is 
  providing first aid to the affected.

  The MQM Member of Coordination Committee and Provincial Minister Shoaib 
  Bukhari visited the Patel Hospital in Karachi to meet and enquire about the 
  welfare of the patients. He has instructed the hospital staff to provide all 
  treatment to the affected.

  Members of MQM Coordination Committee Dr Nusrat, Nek Mohammad, Provincial 
  Members of Sindh Assembly Idrees Siddiqui, Imam Uddin Shehzad an Naib Nazim of 
  Gulberg Town Sohail Zaidi visited the Edhi Centre in Sohrab Goth and met with 
  the family members of those who lost their lives and expressed their heartfelt 
  condolences and sympathies.

  KKF has organised a relief at Edhi Home in Sohrab Goth to assist the affected 
  families and provide them with ambulances for transporting their loved ones to 
  their respective homes.

  The Haq Parast Member of National Assembly Syed Akhlaq Hussain Abidi and Town 
  Nazim Saddar Town Mohammad Dilawar visited the home of Saif Ghulam who lost 
  his life because of electrocution to express their condolences, sorrow and 
  grief with his family members.

  The MQM Coordination Committee has established an emergency monitoring team at 
  Nine Zero to oversee the emergency relief activities.

  The KKF has also begun its relief activities in the city.
