DEATH OF OMAR ASGHAR KHAN SUICIDE OR MURDER? ALTAF HUSSAIN

London-26 June 2002
Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) expressed his profound sadness and shock over the sudden and mysterious death of the former Federal Minister Omar Asghar Khan. He enquired from the people at the helm of affairs of the Government whether the death of Omar Asghar Khan was a suicide or murder? He said that contradictory reports of the cause of sudden and mysterious death of the former Federal Minister Omar Asghar Khan are floating and the Government has failed to unravel the real cause of death having over 48 hours elapsed since his death.

Mr Hussain said that if death has occurred as a result the murder then it deserves severest condemnation and the cause needs to be thoroughly investigated and the culprits exemplarily punished. Finally, Mr Altaf Hussain prayed that Almighty Allah rest the soul of the former Federal Minister Omar Asghar Khan in “Janat-ul-Firdaus” and grant strength to his family members including his father Air Marshal (Rtd.) Asghar Khan to endure this personal tragedy inflicted over them.
