London 1st July 2010...MQM Founder & Leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the suicidal bomb attacks within the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Ali Hajveri popularly known as Data Ganj BakhshRH. He expressed his heartfelt sorrow and grief on the loss of lives of dozens of innocent worshippers and devotees. Mr. Hussain said that Hazrat Data Ganj BakhshRH is amongst the renowned and highly respected Sufi saints who spread Islam in the Subcontinent and through his character introduced respect for humanity and service to the common people in the light of the teachings of the Allah Almighty and His Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). As a result hundreds a thousands of people embraced Islam.

The shrine of Data Ganj BakhshRH is considered as a revered place
where many renowned Sufi saints have stayed. For centauries, people from all
sects and schools of thought gather daily and offer prayers and express their
affection. Targeting such a revered place for terrorism and killing innocent
people is not only an act of terrorism but also open barbarism and cruelty and
is highly condemnable.
Mr Hussain said, the suicidal bomb attack on Data Darbar is a national tragedy
and I personally feel saddened. I share the sorrow and grief with the family
members of those who lost their lives. I believe that such brutal elements
responsible for the bloodshed on the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj BakhshRH
are enemies of Islam and Muslims and will not be able to escape the wrath of the
Almighty Allah. He said that such cruel and barbaric terrorists are now
targeting sacred worship places. Prior to this, in the areas of Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa including Swat and Dir, these terrorists bomb blasted the shrines of
Sufis, religious ulemas and now they have attacked the shrine of Hazrat Data
Ganj BakhshRH in Lahore.
Mr Hussain demanded of the Government to effectively deal with the terrorists who are responsible for suicidal attacks on mosques, imam-barghas, shrines of Sufis and religious scholars and other worship places killing innocent citizens. He appealed for an indiscriminate action against the perpetrators of such terrorist attacks and provide security to the shrines of Sufis, other worship places, the devotees and worshippers. He warned that time has come when people from all sects, schools of thoughts and even religion must get united against the enemies of humanity.
