Murder of Two Christian Brothers Rashid Masih and Sajid Masih in Faisalabad Deserves Severest of Condemnation – Altaf Hussain

Christians Living in Pakistan Are Patriotic and Equal Citizens Abhorrent Acts against Them Can Not Be Justified In Any way

London: 20 July 2010

Mr Altaf Hussain, Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) condemned the killings of two Christian brothers Rashid Masih and Sajid Masih in Faisalabad as a result of target killings in the most severest terms. He stressed that if there was a case registered against any citizen even then no one has any right to become a law unto oneself and act like the Judge, the Jury and the Executioner.

Mr Altaf Hussain condemning the act of murder said that Christians living in the country must not be considered unpatriotic; they are as patriotic and equal citizen as others. Degrading and inhuman acts against them cannot be justified.  He said the point that needs to be seriously pondered is that what would be the consequences if Muslims living in the non-Muslim countries were to be treated in the similar manner, in reaction to these condemnable acts and what message are we sending to the non-Muslim world?

Mr Altaf Hussain demanded that serious notice of this incident must be taken, the perpetrators must be arrested and exemplary punishment be given to them. He condoled the members of the bereaved families and assured them that MQM shares their pain and sorrow and stands in solidarity with them in their testing times.
