NO IDEOLOGY OF THE WORLD COULD BE DEPENDENT ON GEOGRAPHICAL BOUNDARIES AND RESTRICTING ANY IDEOLOGY TO GEOGRAPHICAL FRONTIER OF ANY COUNTRY WOULD BE UNFAIR TO THAT VERY IDEOLOGY – ALTAF HUSSAIN

IDEOLOGY OF ISLAM IS FOR THE UNIVERSAL HUMANITY, WHAT SERVICE IS BEING DONE BY CONFINING IT WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHICAL BOUNDARIES OF PAKISTAN?

IF THE IDEOLOGY OF ISLAM WERE ONLY FOR MECCA AND RELATED AREAS THEN WHY HOLY PROPHET (PBUH) SENT HIS EMISSARIES TO PREACH ISLAM?

London-22 January 2007

Mr. Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has said that no ideology of the world can be dependent on geographical boundaries but in fact, it always transcends over geographical boundaries. He further added that restricting ideologies to geographic confines are unjust. He expressed these views from London during a study circle with the workers of the MQM unit of South Africa over the telephone. Mr. Hussain elaborated on ideology, migration of peoples, allegiance with ideology and ideological vision during this study circle.

Mr. Altaf Hussain claimed that Pakistan is considered an ideological country and its ideology is “Islam” while the total area of Pakistan consists of 8,03,940 square kilometer and restricting Islamic ideology to this area would not only mean imprisoning the Islamic ideology within such an area but would also be tyrannical and unjust by confining it to the frontiers of Pakistan while the Islam is for the entire universe and for the welfare of the people living in it.

Mr. Altaf Husain emphasised that if Islamic ideology were only for Mecca and its peripheries then the Prophet (PBUH) would not have sent his emissaries round the world preaching Islam and therefore, in his opinion, imprisoning Islamic ideology within the borders of Pakistan is not only unislamic but also against the Islamic jurisprudence. He further stressed that he at a loss to understand as to what service is being done to Islam by confining Islamic ideology within the borders of Pakistan while Islam descended for the entire universe and humanity. He further said that according to his knowledge Islam is the religion of Rabb-ul-Aalameen (Almighty Allah) and Rahmat-ul-lil-Aalameen (The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Therefore, he requested the religious scholars and intellectuals to guide him in this regard and convey their interpretation in simple language for his understanding to help him convey the ideology through study circles rather indulging in jargons and rhetorics.
