12TH. SAARC CONFERENCE A GREAT SUCCESS - ALTAF HUSSAIN

Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) extended his felicitations on the great success of the 12th. SAARC Conference. He termed the success of the SAARC Conference a big boost and a great breakthrough towards peace and better understanding in economic and trade relations amongst the SAARC countries.

Mr Altaf Hussain hoped that the success of the Conference would bring prosperity and brightness in the region and would be helpful in eliminating poverty in all the member countries. He emphatically said that biggest achievement of the 12th. SAARC Conference is the beginning of the negotiations between the neighbouring rival countries towards peace and bilateral disputed issues for better relations and a peaceful negotiated settlement and resolution of the longstanding issue of Kashmir in a honourable way along with the aspirations of the Kashmiries.

Mr Altaf Hussain welcomed and appreciated the meeting of the President General Parvez Musharraf and the Indian Prime Minister Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He further paid his gratitude to the Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali and his associates including those who took part in the arrangements of the Conference.

Mr Altaf Hussain paid his gratitude to the President General Parvez Musharraf for taking the courageous and historical step towards the normalisation of the relationship between India and Pakistan. Concluding his statement, Mr Altaf Hussain congratulated the President General Parvez Musharraf and the Indian Prime Minister Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee for making an effort in bringing both countries closer keeping the honour and dignity of both the countries.
