With profound sadness we report that Salman Farooqui 30, MQM Unit In-charge and Syed Masood Ali 35, an MQM worker, both from MQM Unit 146, Sector Federal B Area, Karachi, Pakistan were shot dead.  Another worker Umer Din 33, who was also with them is seriously injured.  We are informed that the three workers had a pre-arranged appointment with Faizan Ullah, Union Council Nazim (Councillor) of Jamat-e-Islami of that area.  The Union Office is located near Eid Gah, Football and Cricket ground near Sagheer Centre, Block No. 16, Federal B Area, Karachi, Pakistan.  Faizan Ullah did not keep his appointment. As the three workers left his office for their homes, after a few yards distance, four terrorists equipped with lethal weapons on two motor cycles, led by Union Councillor Faizan Ullah came close to them and said that “we came to take revenge of the defeat of Mairajul Huda, candidate of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA, a religious fundamentalist jihadi group, directly linked with Al Qaida) in the By-Elections (held on January 15, 2003 at NA-242 Orangi Town, Karachi) on the order of Munawar Hasan (Former In-charge of notorious killing wing “Thunder Squad” of Islami Jamiat-e-Talba and presently a Secretary General of Jamat-e-Islami) to give an exemplary lesson to Muttahida Quami Movement and its allies the United States of America. After saying these words, the terrorists opened fire on them at point blank range, as a result the Unit In-charge of MQM Unit 146, Salman Farooqui, 30 years old and a worker Syed Masood Ali 35, were killed and the third worker Umer Din 33, was seriously injured. Mr. Salman Farooqui Shaheed (Martyr) got married only a month ago. He leaves a widow behind.  The assailants fled from the spot with chanting slogans that Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) will kill each and everyone who would be an ally of United States of America.
