AN MQM WORKER BADER UL ISLAM MURDERED BY UNKNOWN TERRORISTS NEAR MQM HEAD OFFICE

Karachi - 7 January 2002 

Today, at around 8 p.m., two masked gunmen attacked the Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall at Nine Zero, the MQM Head Office in Karachi, Pakistan. The terrorists, riding on a motorcycle, armed with lethal automatic weapons opened fire at those present at the Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall. As a result, Mr Bader Ul Islam son of Zameer Ul Islam, an MQM worker of Federal B Area, who got married last week, was shot several times. 

Mr Bader Ul Islam was immediately taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where despite the determined efforts of the emergency staff, he succumbed to his injuries. At present we await further details.

Mr Altaf Hussain, MQM Founder and Leader, as strongly condemned the terrorist attack upon the MQM Head Office in Karachi and termed it is a continuation of the malicious conspiracy of the Establishment against the MQM. 

Mr Hussain extended his fullest sympathies to the family members of Bader Ul Islam. In a condolence message to the family members, Mr Hussain prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the soul of Bader Ul Islam in peace and provide solace to the family members to bear this irreparable loss.

The Members of MQM Coordination Committee while strongly condemning this cowardly act of terrorism has demanded of the present Government to immediately apprehend the terrorists responsible for the brutal and barbaric murder of Bader Ul Islam.
