FIRING OUTSIDE AMERICAN CONSULATE IN KARACHI IS TERRORISM AND CONSPIRACY TO DESTROY PEACE AND DESTABILISE THE GOVERNMENT-ALTAF HUSSAIN

Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has severely condemned the death of two police officers resulted from the firing at the police checkpoint outside the American Consulate in Karachi and termed it a naked terrorism. In his press statement, he said that this criminal terrorism deserves severest condemnation that followed the spate of killings starting from callous murder of Late Khalid-bin-Waleed, murder and mayhem at Mehdi Imambargah in Al-Falah Society, Malir, at Light House and Azizabad.

Mr Altaf Hussain lamenting these killings said that the objective of the conspiracies behind these on-going terrorism and killings is to destroy the peace of Sindh in general and Karachi in particular besides destabilising the elected provincial Government.

Mr Altaf Hussain said that those savage elements shedding the blood of innocent citizens are serving their heinous and vested interests. He further added that these elements are not only the enemy of the country but also of the humanity. He demanded of the President General Parvez Musharraf, Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad and the Chief Minister of Sindh Ali Mohammad Meher to take serious notice of the conspiracies destroying the peace of Karachi and take stern action against the enemies of the peace.

Finally, Mr Altaf Hussain expressed his deepest condolences to the family members of the deceased police officers and prayed for the speedy recovery of the wounded. He also demanded of the Government to pay 5 Lakh Rupees each to the families of the dead and 2 Lakh Rupees each to the wounded and provide exemplary medical treatment to the wounded.
