ALTAF HUSSAIN CALLS MUNAWER HASSAN AND WASIM SAJJAD

LONDON: 20TH DECEMBER 2010:

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain called Leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Mr Syed Munawer Hassan and Opposition Leader in the Senate Mr Wasim Sajjad over the telephone. Mr. Altaf Hussain discussed with them the political situation, important public issues and internal and external threats facing the country. He emphasized on coming together of all political and religious parties on a platform in order to steer the country out of present crises.

Talking to Mr Wasim Sajjad, Mr Hussain said that corruption had taken the form of a running sore in every department of the country and the economic condition was explosive. He said that the Almighty had endowed the country with oil, gas, coal and other natural resources that must be exploited in order to bring progress and prosperity in the country. He said that MQM had taken a principled stance on the issue of RGST because “MQM being a representative party of poor and middle class feels itself accountable before its voters and hence it cannot endorse RGST under any condition”. Agreeing with Mr Hussain, Mr Sajjad proposed an All-parties Conference for bringing the country out of present crises.

While talking to Mr Munawer Hassan he said that MQM wanted to free the country from the benevolence and largesse of foreign powers. He appreciated the stand of Jamaat-e-Islami on RGST and foreign intrusion in the affairs of the country and said that all political parties should prefer national honour and dignity above anything else. Mr Munawer Hassan hailed the thoughts of Mr Altaf Hussain as positive and stressed upon harmony between political parties with reference to aims and objectives. He said that a better line of action can be found for the welfare and security of the country if all political forces in the country are taken in confidence.

 

 FRENCH CONSUL GENERAL VISIT NINE ZERO

Karachi: 20th DECEMBER 2010

The Consul General of France in Karachi Mr Christian Ramage visited the Head Office of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) on Monday the 20th December and met member of the Co-ordination Committee Kunwar Khalid Yunus. Provincial Minister for Youth Affairs Faisal Sabzwari was also present on the occasion. Political situation, challenges facing the country and other important issues came under discussion during the meeting. The Consul General stressed the need for maintaining mutual contacts and said that he would ask the law makers (Deputies) of the French Parliament to visit Sindh and Karachi in particular when they would come to Pakistan. in the end he was presented the Pictorial Biography of MQM Founder and Leader Mr Altaf Hussain.

  

 

PREPARATION UNDERWAY FOR MQM PUBLIC MEETING IN BHIT SHAH

KARACHI: 20TH DECEMBER 2010

Preparations are underway in full swing for organizing a mammoth public meeting in Malakhra Stadium Bhit Shah by Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) on 25th December 2010. The Founder and Leader of MQM Mr Altaf Hussain will address the public meeting telephonically and talk about important political issues that face the country and the conspiracies that are being hatched to bring the peaceful people of the province against each other from disgruntled elements.

MQM workers are actively working for making the programme a success and in this connection a meeting was held at Hyderabad Zone Office in which office-bearers and workers from various MQM Zones from Interior Sindh participated in large numbers. Members of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Ashfaq Mangi and Syed Shakir Ali also attended the meeting. Speaking on the occasion Ashfaq Mangi said that Mr Altaf Hussain had always worked for spreading peace and the teachings of Sufis.

Later members of the Co-ordination Committee visited the shrine of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai and laid floral wreath on behalf of Mr Altaf Hussain. They also condoled with Gaddi Nashin Syed Nisar Hussain Shah over the death of his brother. Local office-bearers of MQM were also present on the occasion.
