TO MUTTAHIDA QUAMI MOVEMENT (MQM) HAS BEEN SHOT DEAD IN TARGET KILLING

Karachi-31 December 2009

Imran Ahmed Khan, Nazim of UC 6, Landhi Town, Karachi belonging to Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has been shot dead in cold blood at 11:00 P.M. on Thursday, 31 December 2009 by two unknown assailants riding on a motor bike while he was sitting in the Welcome Electronic shop near High School, Landhi No.1, Karachi as a result of target killing.

This is pertinent to mention that 55 innocent workers of the MQM have been killed as a result of unprovoked target killings in 2009 and 14 during the month of November and December 2009. Also, today, (Thursday, 31 December 2009) at around 11:00 A.M. (Pakistan Standard Time), Abdul Basit Qureshi, Joint Unit In-charge of Unit 19, Lyari Sector was also killed in a target killing. Police has failed to arrest a single perpetrator adding doubts to its complicity in these organised target killings of the MQM workers continuing unabated. The affected Areas where most of the killing is taking place are Lyari and Landhi, suburbs of Karachi. Lyari is  infested with the criminals of “Lyari Gang War”  and criminals of the so-called Peoples Amn (Peace) Committee, both led by the Late Abdur Rahman alias “Dakait” (Robber) , a don and a drug mafia involved in thousands of killings in Lyari and surrounding areas.  Although, Abdur Rahman “Dakiat” was killed in a gun battle but his gang is still operating. Landhi, an area of Karachi is infested with the “Haqiqi” terrorists’.
