ALTAF HUSSAIN APPEALS TO PRESIDENT AND CARETAKER PRIME MINISTER TO TAKE NOTICE OF SEVERE FLOUR CRISIS

MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed deep concerns on severe flour crisis in the country. Mr Hussain has appealed to the President Pervez Musharraf and Care-taker Prime Minister Mohammad Miah Somro to take notice of severe flour crisis and to take emergency actions and import flour via cargo planes from abroad and also to give special permission to local traders to import flour. 

 

In his statement Mr Hussain said that as a result of flour crisis millions of people are suffering from starvation and under mental stress. The people of Pakistan are not prepared to listen to any excuse from the government on flour crisis and non-availability.

 

Mr Hussain has demanded that the government should arrest those who are storing flour in warehouses to create flour crisis, to award them exemplary punishment regardless of their position, to confiscate their direct or indirect assets and to distribute additional expense allowance to the poor.
