The MQM Coordination Committee has strongly condemned the illegal raid and unlawful arrests of its workers and said that the MQM announced countrywide peaceful protest against the autocratic attitude of the PMLQ, however, the PMLQ Government in Punjab instructed the police and administration to conduct indiscriminate raids and arrests, which is undemocratic and demonstrates the feudal mentality of the Punjab Government. The MQM Coordination Committee while holding the Punjab Government responsible of the consequences has demanded for the immediate release of all its workers and an end to the illegal raids on MQM worker’s homes.

    EMERGENCY
PROTEST AGAINST AUTOCRATIC ATTITUDE OF PML-Q

    PEACEFUL
DEMONSTRATIONS ALL OVER PAKISTAN ON TUESDAY, 5 DECEMBER 2006

    London – 3rd December 2006: The MQM
Coordination Committee has announced to hold peaceful demonstrations
throughout Pakistan to protest against the autocratic attitude of PML-Q on
Tuesday, 5th December 2006. In its statement issued late Sunday night, the
Coordination Committee commenting on PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid
Hussain’s statement said that if the MQM is being considered as a family
member, friend or trusted ally then it should have been invited to attend
today’s dialogue as a trusted ally. The act of ignoring the MQM is unfair
and unjustified.  The Coordination Committee further said that if this was
not a dialogue but consultation as claimed by Mr Mushahid Hussain then why
the coalition partners were ignored? Is it reasonable to keep the trusted
allies away from the consultation process? The Coordination Committee termed
the act of conducting unilateral dialogues on sensitive issues, not inviting
and ignoring the trusted coalition allies as totally undemocratic, which
demonstrates that the ruling party considers the coalition partners as
subordinates or servants. MQM being a principled political party consider
this attitude as undemocratic and inappropriate. Therefore, the MQM
Coordination Committee while taking strong notice of the clarification of
PML-Q leaders, which was unsatisfactory and inadequate, has decided that in
view of the persistent act of the PML-Q of ignoring the trusted allies,
taking unilateral decisions and adopting negative attitude, the MQM will to
organise peaceful demonstrations throughout Pakistan to protest against the
autocratic attitude of PML-Q. These peaceful protest demonstrations will be
organised in Sindh including Karachi and Hyderabad, Punjab, Balochistan,
NWFP and Azad Kashmir. The MQM Coordination Committee has appealed to MQM
workers and Haq Parast people to participate in large numbers to register
    their protest.
