COMMUNICATION IS KEY TO UNITY AND HARMONY – ALTAF HUSSAIN

Karachi – 10 December 2003
Communication is the key to unity and harmony whereas lack of communication gives birth to isolation and disarray.  This was stated by MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain while addressing the Members of MQM Adhoc Committee at MQM Head Office in Karachi.  He said that variations in thoughts, temperament and choices are even witnessed amongst the children of same parents.  But they respect each other, remain united and think for the collective prosperity of their home.  Based on differences in thoughts and temperament, if they stop seeing each other then it will be a collective loss to their home and will prove destructive.  Movement is also like home.  Even within a Movement one can find differences amongst its members based on their thoughts, style and temperament.  We should understand each others temperament and despite natural differences we must respect and try to convince each other.  When we sit together for collective interests, we should sacrifice personal opinion in favour of majority’s decision.  If we adopt this attitude then we can improve the coordination and communication amongst ourselves thus strengthening our unity.  Communication is the key to unity and harmony and lack of communication gives birth to misunderstandings and isolation.  The conspirators try to misguide us and this process tantamount to sowing the seed of negativity in our minds.  These seeds grow into plants and trees – even leading to hatred.

Mr Hussain stressed upon the Members of Adhoc Committee to further improve their coordination and communication and must not let the communication process to lack at any stage.  He advised them to adore and love the workers and remember that a tree filled with fruits always bends, therefore, as bigger an office bearer, one must not become arrogant but one should be humble.  He also suggested that alongside the Movement and its ideology, we must also seek for information and knowledge with respect to the Twenty-First Century because the nations who keep themselves abreast and synchronized with the current time are developed, economically sound and prosperous.
